Ellen Degeneres is an American comedian, actor, television host, writer and producer. She made history back in April 1997 when came out as a lesbian, first on The Oprah Winfrey Show and then on on a special episode of her sitcom, Ellen, which also starred Oprah Winfrey as a therapist.
